The Cumberland River Compact is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the health and enjoyment of the Cumberland River and its tributaries through education, restoration, and collaboration. Serving three million people and thousands of species, the Cumberland River Compact works to address root causes of water pollution, both urban and rural. Integral to the success of our mission are our knowledgeable and dedicated staff that embody the values of our organization, and work closely as a team to advance conservation goals.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Working Lands Program Manager is responsible for advancing water conservation priorities in the Cumberland River basin by cultivating strong relationships with landowners, resource managers, government agencies, and private industry. The position will work to advance adoption of on-farm Best Management Practices (BMPs) through the new River Friendly Farms certification program, identify opportunities for small and large scale stream restoration sites on private lands, lead efforts to reforest previously mined lands, and build awareness about the Compact and its resources in counties throughout the basin.
