Mid TN Growers 2023 Winter Gathering

Hello all,

Time to celebrate 10 years of small to mid-size farming in Middle TN with this year’s gathering on February 6, Monday, from 9:00-1:00.

Sylvia Ganier of Green Door Gourmet Farm has offered to again host this year’s meeting and lunch.  The date is Monday, February 6, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at her farm, 7011 River Road Pike, Nashville, TN 37209 (one mile off Charlotte Pike), Phone: (615) 942-8079, info@greendoorgourmet.com. We ask a nominal $5 for lunch to pay for the food and others who contribute to this group. We also ask that you RSVP so we can schedule accordingly.

This is the latest agenda (tentative and ever-developing) for the mid-winter gathering of Middle Tennessee farmers and ‘friends of farmers’.  Please send your topics for inclusion.

  9. Tennessee Department of Agriculture updates from Extension Agents, Marketing, and Center for Profitable Agriculture
  10. Community Building Gleaning – Jeannie Hunter
  11. Rural Energy for America Program grants and loans (Light Wave Solar)
  12. Food Hubs in Mid TN (Alan Powell)
  13. 11:30 a.m.  Lunch (People can break out into smaller lunch groups for discussion, for instance: what collaborative efforts can we initiate, what kind of organized future and actions are next, others…?
  14. 12:15 p.m.  Return to group session, and file ideas thoughts and opinions folks have come up with during lunch
  15. 1:00 p.m. End – attendees are welcome to mingle and converse with others afterwards

And one other great offering that will be graciously provided to us by Sylvia and her staff is a seasonal lunch with vegetarian options (with a blueberry something for dessert)!
